Note: This information is for our summer campers only

and does not apply for guest groups, retreats, etc.

The upcoming summer schedule is not yet posted, therefore the following times are unofficial.

Overnight camps have typically begun on-site at 3:30pm on Sundays, and finished on-site at 9:00am on Fridays.

Our week of Day Camps have typically begun at ~9:00am and finished by 3:30pm each day.


Many of our summer campers come from Vancouver or Victoria area, and use BC Ferries.  

We have a team of staff who are eager to meet you at either port.  They will be wearing HBBC t-shirts, and carrying a sign.  Please meet them in the BC Ferries foyer and sign them into the care of our Camp.  Please see below for the itinerary of events to get your camper here.

PLEASE NOTE:

Registration fees do not cover the ferry cost of coming TO Pender Island.

Registration fees do cover the ferry cost of departing FROM Pender Island.

[Please do not send your camper with cash; it can too easily be lost or stolen]

  • Gulf Islands Residents

    (Galiano, Mayne, Salt Spring, Saturna, etc.)

    Beginning of Camp Week:

    Please work out a ferry schedule from your island to arrive at Camp on Sunday at 3:30 pm, 

    If you arrive on Pender early, enjoy our island as a family.  

    Please do not arrive at the Camp before 3:30 pm, as our staff are busy readying for the week, and there will be no early childcare.


    End of Camp Week:

    Please work out a ferry schedule for your camper(s) to depart from Camp on Friday morning.


    Please contact us to arrange for the best ferries to get your camper to and from our site at the appropriate times.  

  • Victoria & "Big Island" Residents

    Beginning of Camp Week:

    1. Arrive at Swartz Bay Foot Passenger Ticket Sales on Sunday by 12:55pm.

    2. Purchase Ticket(s): "Departure to Otter Bay (Pender Island) for 2:10 pm."

    3. Meet HBBC staff in Departures area, and sign-in each of your campers.  The staff will be there at ~1:35pm to meet you.


    End of Camp Week:

    1. Arrive at Swartz Bay Terminal on Friday by 10:00 am.

    2. The ferry from Otter Bay  arrives at 10:10am.

    3. Meet HBBC staff in Arrivals area, and sign out each camper.

  • Vancouver Area Residents

    Beginning of Camp Week:

    1. Arrive at Tsawwassen Foot Passenger Ticket Sales on Sunday by 11:15am.

    2. Purchase Ticket(s): "THROUGH FARE to Otter Bay (Pender Island) for 12:00pm." 

    'Through Fare' means there is a stopover at Swartz Bay.  

    Do not purchase a direct sailing to Pender Island.  Our staff are not on that sailing, and we anticipate your arrival at Camp no sooner than 3:30pm.  

    3. Meet HBBC staff in Departures area, and sign-in each camper.


    End of Camp Week:

    1. Arrive at Tsawwassen Terminal on Friday by 12:25 pm.

    2. The THROUGH FARE ferry from Otter Bay (via Swartz Bay) arrives at 12:35 pm.

    3. Meet HBBC staff in Arrivals area, and sign-out each camper.

  • Pender Island Residents

    Beginning of Camp Week:

    Camp begins each week on Sunday at 3:30 pm.

    Campers must be signed in by a parent/guardian.

    Please do not arrive before 3:30pm, as our staff are busy readying for the week, and there will be no early childcare.


    End of Camp Week:

    Camp finishes each week on Friday at 9:00am.

    Campers must be signed out by a parent/guardian.

  • Day Camp - July 9-13, 2021

    Each Morning: 

    Day camp begins each day at 8:30am.

    Campers must be signed in by a parent/guardian.


    Each Afternoon:

    Camp finishes each day on at 4:00pm.

    Campers must be signed out by a parent/guardian.
