We Are…
Hope Bay Bible Camp is a small camp with a big heart. HBBC is a Christian, non-denominational ministry owned and operated by One Hope Canada (formerly CSSM Ministries), whose purpose is to share the saving life of Christ with those who have the least opportunity to hear. We are a member of the Fellowship of Christian Camps.
We Serve…
Our purpose is to share the love of Jesus Christ with children from the Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, and the Vancouver area. Since 1962, we have welcomed and will continue to welcome campers, families, and groups of all backgrounds, even and especially those with different beliefs. We strive that every guest at Hope Bay Bible Camp be treated equally and served joyfully. In accordance with our Christian beliefs, teachings and structure, we are committed to providing an environment free from discrimination and harassment on Protected Grounds, as set forth in B.C. Human Rights legislation. A portion of our campers come from low-income homes from the inner city of Vancouver and Victoria, from foster homes, and from single-parent homes. God loves us all equally, and we strive to pour love and care into each person who becomes connected.
We Began…
The story of Hope Bay Bible Camp began in 1962, when the Menzies family of Pender Island offered to donate their farm land for the express purpose of a children's Bible camp.
CSSM Ministries began developing the property, building a simple dining hall, a chapel, and cabins, and HBBC has been sharing the love and wonder of Christ with thousands of children over the last 60+ years.
