We Are…

Hope Bay Bible Camp is a small camp with a big heart.  HBBC is a Christian, non-denominational ministry owned and operated by One Hope Canada (formerly CSSM Ministries), whose purpose is to share the saving life of Christ with those who have the least opportunity to hear.  We are a member of the Fellowship of Christian Camps.

We Serve…

Our purpose is to share the love of Jesus Christ with children from the Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island, and the Vancouver area.  A portion of our campers come from low-income homes from the inner city of Vancouver and Victoria, from foster homes, and from single-parent homes.  God loves us all equally, and we strive to pour love and care into each person who becomes connected.

We Began…

The story of Hope Bay Bible Camp began in 1962, when the Menzies family of Pender Island offered to donate their farm land for the express purpose of a children's Bible camp.

CSSM Ministries began developing the property, building a simple dining hall, a chapel, and cabins, and HBBC has been sharing the love and wonder of Christ with thousands of children over the last 50+ years.

  • Chanda Bosch

    Office Administrator

We have been praying for someone who can devote more time to the many administrative tasks required here.  In January of 2016 that prayer was answered in the form of Chanda.  Chanda works part-time in the office with increased hours in the spring and summer.  Chanda and Dan have been building a house on Pender, and moved here permanently this past autumn.  They've also got a sweet musical gig!

We Believe . . .

The whole Bible is inspired by God and therefore our authority for faith and practice.

+ + +

The Trinity is one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

+ + +

Jesus Christ is God and was miraculously conceived, performed miracles, died and was buried, physically rose again, ascended to heaven and will return.

+ + +

In the person of the Holy Spirit, whose ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict mankind, renew the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.

+ + +

In the total sinfulness of mankind and that only by being born again through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ alone can we have salvation.

+ + +

In the resurrection of our body, the eternal life of the saved and the eternal punishment of the unsaved.

+ + +

In the existence of Satan, a created being and an enemy of God.
